SYNOPSIS

‘BFF’ by Anna Ziegler tells the story of Lauren, who grapples with the trauma she experienced in childhood as a result of the death of her best friend, Eliza. Lauren, now in her late 20s, keeps to herself as she continues to blame herself for causing Eliza’s death, despite the advances of a new love interest named Seth. With each scene, the play slowly unfolds the truth of her trauma by vacillating between Lauren’s childhood and Lauren’s adulthood. The story's parallelisms reveal how her experiences in the past cause her choices in the present.
